The event, organized in collaboration with the Gastrocampus of Innovation of the Faculty of Tourism, has as its main objective to publicize the wealth and gastronomic culture linked to local products, by experts in the fields of health, gastronomy , restaurants, food and tourism. "What better place than Coín, which is a benchmark in the agricultural and livestock sector, to host these conferences and promote and promote the knowledge and study of our rich gastronomy through our raw material", highlighted the mayor of the city, Francisco Santos. , who has presented the training event together with the Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Dori Luque; the dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Antonio Guevara, and Antonio Lara, academic director of Business and International Projection at FGUMA. The sessions will take place over two days, the first, on November 4, will take place at the Blas Infante de Coín House of Culture and will include lectures by Miguel Ángel Quesada, professor in the Department of Botany and Plant Physiology of the University from Malaga; Álvaro Muñoz, director of LUMEN Gastronomic projects; Eva Domínguez, scientist at IHSM La Mayora, and Lola Gómez, founder of CLISOL Turismo Agrícola. Day 5 will be dedicated to a gastronomic workshop led by chef Javier Luque Guzmán that will take place at the Guadalhorce Food Market. "It is a source of pride that one of the most important universities in all of Spain is present in our municipality and that, in addition, it is to promote and disseminate something in which we are a reference, such as the agricultural sector", declared the councilor, while He added that, although the promotion of local garden products has been promoted for a long time from the consistory, this collaboration with the UMA adds a training plus. For his part, Lara highlighted that the UMA initiative in the province currently has a dozen locations and that Coín has the three qualities that must be met for this activity to be successful: a powerful program, a prestigious director and the involvement of the city council, so it has augured a good future for these conferences. Finally, Guevara has outlined the pillars on which this activity is based, which go through the symbiosis between local agri-food systems and the quality of the products, the relationship between tourism and gastronomy and the scientific component of the activity, which is reinforced with compared to last year, introducing presentations by leading specialists. Registration is open and is completely free for anyone interested, it can be done at the web FGUMA. It is open to all public.
