The Huevo de Toro Tomato Gastronomic Route kicks off with 50 participating restaurants

There are up to nine hotel businesses in Coín participating in this gastronomic program in a year in which the Huevo de Toro Tomato promotion celebrates its tenth anniversary. This Friday, July 29, the Huevo de Toro Tomato Gastronomic Route of this 2022 begins. A gastronomic event that has become a regular on the best culinary agendas due to the high quality of the star product: the Huevo de Toro tomato. From July 29 to August 31, more than 50 restaurants throughout the province will offer their diners exquisite dishes where this variety of tomato is the protagonist. "The Huevo de Toro Tomato is unique for its flavor and aroma, grown outdoors and ripened on the vine, the star that is in the best restaurants in Spain and that is an example of the great quality of the entire orchard of the region of El Valle del Guadalhorce, where Coín is one of the major producers”, highlighted the mayor of Coín, Francisco Santos. It was during the presentation that took place this morning at El Pimpi, in Malaga, in the presence of a large group of chefs who presented their dishes to the public. "In Malaga we have great hospitality professionals who need a good raw material like this tomato to be at the forefront of gastronomic art and thus export our land around the world," added Santos. In Coín there are 9 catering businesses where you can taste dishes with Huevo de Toro tomato within the contest: Jommara, El Monaguillo Ice Cream Parlor, La Peña Bar, Rincón de la Plaza Bar, La Torre Bar, Bohemia Restaurant, Casa Paco Restaurant, Coconut Café and Tapas and Al-Andalus Restaurant.

For his part, Cobos has highlighted the support that "from the first moment" he offered to the possibilities of this product and has claimed its inclusion "in the great hotel offer that our province of Malaga has." The president of the GDR has encouraged all attendees to participate in all the activities scheduled from the start of the campaign until it ends with the auction contest that will take place, as is tradition, on August 15 in Coín. "Our farmers are giving everything to offer us the best and our goal is to reach the greatest possible diffusion and projection, we are working on that and directing our actions," he said. In this same sense, Martín has exposed the "great support" of the Diputación de Málaga sponsoring said promotion from the Sabor a Málaga brand. Huevo de Toro Tomato Auction: August 15 Although the gastronomic route will last until August 31, this delicacy can continue to be enjoyed until practically well into the month of October, the time when the campaign for this great seasonal product usually ends. On August 15 in Coín there will be the Auction Contest for the best batch of Huevo de Toro tomato, which will take place in the morning in the San Agustín Park, after holding the Fruit and Vegetable Contest of the Coin City Council. "We encourage the entire province and all Andalusians to attend this event, to our market and to buy this authentic delicacy from our land directly from our farmers", has encouraged Francisco Santos.
