This Friday the presentation of the last series made up of four numbers with four other authors from Malaga took place, an event held in the old Convent of Santa María de la Encarnación. The event was chaired by the mayor of the city, Francisco Santos, accompanied by the Councilor for Culture, Dori Luque; the director of the Foundation, José Manuel García Fernández; the director of the collection and one of the leading authors of this series, Juvenal Soto; and the authors Gumersindo Ruiz, Francisco Ruiz Noguera and José Infante. In front of a large group of neighbours, friends and lovers of culture, this edition was presented, which closes a very careful collection, with drawings by Pérez Estrada, with poems by authors from Málaga and which fulfills the objective of recognizing the figure of the poet from Málaga. It is a project designed and created by the president of the Foundation, José Manuel García Agüera, which began in 2014 together with Juvenal Soto as director and a large group of authors from Malaga. Since then, about 16 issues with exclusive poetry have been published with the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City Council of Coín. That is why the councilor from Coin, Francisco Santos, has highlighted the cultural commitment in the municipality thanks to the joint work of the City Council with the groups and entities of the same as the Foundation. “Coín is truly a cultural capital due to the great cultural and artistic movement present in the municipality that has known, thanks to José Manuel García Agüera, to recognize important figures on the Malaga and national scene such as Rafael Pérez Estrada, a lover of our city and the cultural movement present here", has assured.

For his part, José Manuel García Fernández has highlighted the work of the Foundation that since 2014 launched this cultural initiative together with poets and authors from the province who at all times showed their commitment and satisfaction for participating. “'Málaga, capital Coín', was how Rafael greeted my father, it served us as a recurring name to give this collection a title with the aim of making our countrymen aware of the life and work of the brilliant Pérez Estrada, one of the personalities most intelligent, attractive and suggestive of the second half of the 20th century”, he stated. The director of the collection, Juvenal Soto, has defended that the poetry sheets do not disappear, since "it will continue to be very present in the García Agüera Foundation and will remain alive as long as we keep it in our libraries and cultural spaces." "With these last four issues the publications of this poetic collection come to an end, but the tribute and recognition will not disappear, just as José Manuel García Agüera, who remains in our hearts, did not disappear for us either," he stated. Lastly, all the Malaga authors present in this latest series took the floor to recite their main poems from these latest issues of 'Málaga, capital Coín'.
