SEMANA SANTA - HOLY WEEK 2026
From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, the images of the different brotherhoods and brotherhoods of the town go out in procession.
During Lent, other events are held prior to the procession.

The event is organised by Coín Town Council and the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Nazarene, the Holy Sepulchre and Mary Most Holy of the Greatest Sorrow of Coín, representing the Passion brotherhoods of Coín this year.
The poster has been designed by the artist Jose Carlos Torre. Presentation of the poster by Alejandro Cuenca Capote. Presentation of the event by Juan José Romero Luque.
During the event, the caps will be presented to the town crier for Coín Holy Week 2026.

TRIDUUM OF THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE SANTÍSIMA VIRGEN DE LOS DOLORES
24–27 March, 7.30 pm – Church of San Juan Bautista.
On the first day of the triduum, following Mass, there will be a vigil and prayer service before the Virgin of Sorrows from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
FRIDAY OF SORROWS (VIERNES DE DOLORES)
Friday 27 March – Church of San Juan Bautista.
Presentation of the children to the Santísima Virgen de los Dolores at 7.30 pm.
At 8.00 pm, the main service with the St John the Baptist Choir. Following the service, the ceremony and presentation of the Brotherhood’s medal to the new members will take place.
• HOLY WEEK 2026 •
PALM SUNDAY – 29 March
The Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno will hold a procession to La Pollinica alongside María Santísima del Mayor Dolor. As is traditional, members of the “Peña Alcohine” will carry the thrones.
Blessing of the palms at 11:00 am, followed by Mass. At the end of Mass, at approximately 12:30 pm, the procession will set off from Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia.
The procession route will be Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia, Calle Mesones, Plaza Alameda, Calle la Feria, Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia and back to the church.
HOLY WEDNESDAY – 1 April
The Royal and Venerable Brotherhood of Cristo del Perdón y de la Vera Cruz and Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza will take centre stage on Holy Wednesday.
The procession of the principal saints will depart from Plaza José Bermúdez de la Rubia at 9.00 pm. As is traditional, the Virgin of Hope will be carried by women.
The procession route will be Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia, Calle Mesones, Plaza Alameda, Calle La Feria, and back to the church via Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia, where the sacred figures of mother and son will meet.
HOLY THURSDAY – 2 April
On Holy Thursday and Good Friday, the Brotherhood of the Santísima VIrgen de los Dolores and the Confraternity of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno carry out their penitential procession.
At 1.00 pm, blessing of the children by the patron saint, Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno. .
The procession departs from the Church of San Juan at 7.00 pm. La Virgen de los Dolores accompanies the image of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, and upon reaching the Plaza de San Agustín, the traditional meeting between the two images takes place, in which the Virgin kneels before her son to bid him farewell as he makes his way to the cross.
The procession route will be: Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia, Calle Mesones, Plaza Alameda, Calle la Feria, Plaza Escamilla, Calle Vicario, Calle Manuel García, Calle Urbano Pineda, Plaza de San Agustín, Calle Vicario, Plaza Escamilla, Calle La Feria, Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia and back to the church.
GOOD FRIDAY – 3 April
At 11:00 am, the Way of the Cross procession featuring the Cristo de la Caridad will set off from the Church of San Andrés towards the Church of San Juan Bautista. Route of the Way of the Cross: Church of San Andrés, Calle Doctor Palomo y Anaya, Plaza de San Agustín, Calle Urbano Pineda, Pasaje de Carmelita, Calle Reyes Católicos, Church of San Sebastián, Calle Bartolomé Abelenda, Calle General Rincón, Pasaje la Gloria, Calle Los Ángeles, Calle Los Morales, Conjunto Victoria, Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia and Church of San Juan Bautista.
The procession departs from the Church of San Juan Bautista at 7.00 pm. The procession features the Cristo de la Caridad, the Virgen de los Dolores with her black mantle – a symbol of mourning for the death of her son – and the Holy Sepulchre of the Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, in which the lifeless body of Jesus is displayed.
The procession route will be the same as on Maundy Thursday.
After the procession ends, at around midnight, the Virgen de la Soledad is carried in procession.
The procession route will be: San Andrés Church, Calle Doctor Palomo y Anaya, Plaza Santa María, Calle Cárcel, Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia, Calle Mesones, Plaza Alameda, Calle La Feria, Plaza Escamilla, Calle Vicario, Plaza San Agustín, Calle Doctor Palomo y Anaya, and back to its church, San Andrés.
EASTER SUNDAY – 5 April
The Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno brings Holy Week to a close with the procession of Nuestro Padre Jesús Resucitado (Our Father Jesus the Risen One), accompanied by his mother, María Santísima del Mayor Dolor. .
Mass at 11:00 am in the Church of San Juan Bautista, followed by the procession (at approximately 12:30 pm) from Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia.
The procession route will be Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia, Calle Mesones, Plaza Alameda, Calle la Feria, Plaza Bermúdez de la Rubia and back to the church.

HOLY TUESDAY: From 10.00 am to 7.00 pm, kissing of the hand and floral offering to the Virgin of Hope at San Juan. Mass at 7.00 pm at San Andrés.
HOLY WEDNESDAY: Mass at 7.00 pm at San Juan.
HOLY THURSDAY: Confessions at 10.00 am. Blessing of the Nazarene at 1.00 pm. Mass of the Last Supper at 5.00 pm at San Juan.
Monument at San Andrés. Holy Hour at 8.30 pm. Throughout the night, the parish of San Andrés
will remain open to keep company with Jesus in the Eucharist.
